Mechanic Shops

Racers must bring their cars to a Mechanic Shop to buy and install upgrades. Mechanic Shops earn a portion of the upgrades purchased at their Shop. Total proceeds from upgrades purchased at all Mechanic Shops will be pooled together and distributed evenly to all shop owners!

There are only 75 Mechanic Shops in the Genesis Collection of game assets. Additional Mechanic Shops will not be released until at least 25,000 cars have been sold.

Benefits of Owning a Mechanic Shop

  • Get a 15% discount on all upgrades for your cars.

  • Earn RIOT tokens - Anticipated RRS (RIOT Reward Share) is 50% depending on purchase date. See below.

  • Customize the name of your Mechanic Shop.

  • Your Mechanic Shop is forward compatible. This means that you will benefit from upgrades of all cars from your Mechanic Shop's collection (e.g. Genesis collection) and future collections!

Mechanic Shop owners can anticipate earning RIOT tokens in the first year equivalent to about half of the amount that the first purchaser paid at drop, based on a purchase price of 0.7 ETH and a ETH price of $2,500. All Genesis Collection Mechanic Shop rewards, no matter when or for how much they were purchased, will be earned in this manner.

Claiming Land Rewards: To start claiming rewards from your Mechanic Shop, you first need to create an account on riotracers.com using the same wallet address that contains your game assets. Your rewards will not start to accumulate until you have created an account.

Selling/Transferring Land Assets: Earned rewards that have not been claimed do not transfer when Mechanic Shops are sold or transferred. Rewards are reset to zero upon transferring of assets.

Notes: RIOT tokens will be earned by Mechanic Shop owners indefinitely based on car upgrade fees. Your Mechanic Shop will be forward compatible, meaning your RRS will be calculated using ALL car upgrade fees from your Mechanic Shop's release collection and forward. For example, Genesis collection Mechanic Shops will provide upgrades for all cars in the game, whereas Mechanic Shops purchased in future collections will provide upgrades to their specific collection and forward. The anticipated reward beyond the first year will be determined using the same mechanics used to establish year-one rewards. With more racing, your anticipated RRS could be higher and with less racing lower.
