Riot Racers is a crypto car racing game where players own parts of the game. Players can earn rewards by playing the game or by owning NFTs in the game. The official in-game currency is the RIOT token.

Players can earn RIOT tokens when winning races, by owning certain game assets like Gas Stations or Mechanic Shops, and by enrolling in the Riot Owner's Club. The amount of RIOT that can be earned from racing depends on the class of that car being raced. Cars exist in seven different classes, from Rookie to Legendary; and the higher the class, the higher the amount of RIOT tokens that can be earned.

RIOT tokens can be spent throughout the game to enter races, spawn (i.e. breed) new Cars and Drivers, upgrade Cars, buy game assets in drops, and other activities associated with the game.

When entering a race, players are presented with the Race Conditions like weather and track conditions. Players select a Car and Driver to race with, and then select from several options that make up their Race Strategy. The race then happens in the background. Results of the race are determined 20% by the Driver, 29% by the Car, and 51% by how well each racer's Race Strategy plays out. Cars with higher XP and upgrades have an advantage in the race.

Ownable parts of the game include: Drivers, Cars, Car Upgrades, Gas Stations, Mechanic Shops, Racetrack Land and Billboard Land.
